Gravestones at The Church of St. John the Baptist, Inglesham, Wiltshire

We were not able to photograph all of the gravestones that are at Inglesham.  As with many church graveyards, this one has become a haven for wildlife in the areas managed for that purpose.  The grasses and plants that grow freely around these sections means the gravestones are not accessible to us.  These areas tend to be around the perimeter where the old graves are whilst the main walk around the church is well tended with grass cut short to walk on.

The rural location of this church means it is peaceful, with perhaps the sound of a tractor in the distance, and plenty of birdsong.

Some of the gravestone inscriptions are very difficlt to read; if you download the full-size photograph you may be able to zoom in to see the detail better.  Please tell us if you notice a mistake so we can make the correction.  Thank you
