When we visited in September 2012 we found work had begun at the west end of the church.  Whilst we were there one of the people overseeing the project came into the church and told us the plan was to make the small room at the base of the tower into a utility area which will have a toilet and sink, and the area at the west end of the nave will no longer have fixed pews so the space is more flexible.

Work had only started the day before we arrived but already great advances had been made.   We were assured the new floor was safe to walk on so we were able to go into the tower room and take the photographs below.  We returned one week later and took a few more, and both sets of photographs are shown below.

We hope to return again and photograph the project when completed - perhaps we can take some 'before and after' shots to show the differences.
