Inside the Chapel at Radnor Street Cemetery, Swindon, Wiltshire

The Radnor Street Cemetery Society that works to raise the profile and improve the state of the cemetery have put a lot of effort into the chapel; boarded windows have been opened, decoration taken place, weather invasion tackled and no doubt more work that is out of sight has taken place, and even in the couple of years we have been going there we can see a huge improvement.  It is amazing what has been achieved through the group's hard work and dedication.

The chapel is now used for various events including the monthly cemetery tours and the annual Remembrance Day commemorations.  New purposes have given this building a new life and it has become part of Swindon's history again.  We don't know of all the events that have taken place here but we do have a few photographs of some we have attended and have included them on this page.

The chapel also appears to be becoming the home of War Memorials that have no other placement - very appropriate as this is a Commonwealth War Graves site - thanks to the efforts of Mark Sutton (local first world war historian) and team.
