As the name suggests this road is next to the station. It now runs past the railway station, crosses Corporation Street and comes to an end at the Transfer Bridges; but this was not always the case.
Originally Station Road finished at Corporation Street and the other side was called East Station Road - we are not sure when the name changed but it was in the early 20th century.
