Theatre Square, Swindon, Wiltshire
Theatre Square is on the edge of the town centre in Swindon. Visioned as a Civic Centre to include a theatre, exhibition rooms, shops, post office, pub and club, the site was developed in the early 1970s with the Wyvern Theatre opening in September 1971 and the Civic Centre being officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in November 1971. The only facility that has gone since then is the post office.
We have a few photographs of the area followed by the individual shop units (some of which face Princes Street), some of which have a link to see more photographs of that particular subject.
