Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, Wiltshire

The Wyvern Theatre opened in September 1971.  We can remember the occasion because Queen Elizabeth visited Swindon to open the Theatre.  It was a very exciting time for us school children as we made red, white and blue flags and bunting.  On the day we lined the streets to wave to her as she was driven past.  We wonder if she remembers us!

A few years ago the Theatre underwent major renovations when asbestos was found and it was decided it should all be removed and they took the opportunity of the threatre being closed to upgrade the seating too.  The outside was updated with a large panel, lighting and the wyvern emblem was re-located to a higher wall.

Our most recent photographs are shown first, followed by the older photographs.
