Sacred to the Memory of
HENRY SOUTHBY Esq:,
Who lies interr’d in this Chancel.
He Married ELIZABETH ye daugh.r of
THOMAS FREKE of Hannington Esq:,
By whom he had Issue, 3 sons & 9 Daughters.
He was a Man of exemplary Piety, & Charity
Of true Honour, & unblemish’d Integrity.
A Man of Solid Judgements, & usefull Sense
Of Singular Prudence,
& Most Excellent Conduct,
He was Steady & uniform
in his Temper & Behaviour;
with So much Meekness,
and Humility, Simplicity & Sweetness,
as Made him very justly beloved &
respected by all that knew him.
He departed this Life
Oct.r the 11th Anno Dom: 1721
Aetat. 57
His Death was greatly lamented
by all but Most especially by his
Sorrowfull Relict; who in respect
to his Memory caus’d this
Monument to be erected.
