This is the tomb of Edward and Mary Goddard and also Martha Lloyd  (nee Goddard).  Not surprisingly for a structure dating from the 1670s, the general condition of the tomb is of disrepair and one panel has some railings across it - we don't know if this was by design or to stop it deteriorating further.

The tomb is in a group of four and they are all Grade II listed - see details at:  Historic England  website.

The inscription is very difficult to read.  We took many close‑up photographs, at different angles, hoping to be able to read more detail, and have included them here in case anyone would like to download them and zoom in to try read them.  We have attempted to transcribe it but we do not know how accurate it is - if you know what the inscription is, or indeed can correct any information we have given here, please get in touch with us.  Thank you.
