The people of Swindon are used to road works but during 2017 it all became too much.  It felt like there were big projects going on everywhere and this one caused much more disruption than was expected because when the road was dug up it was found to be in a lot worse condition so the work went on for months longer than expected.  Oh the traffic jams it caused as the drivers on this normally busy road had to find alternative routes which were also busy and being repaired.  What a relief it must have been when it finally finished.
