A new mural for 2015 - this time being brought up to date and painted with aerosol cans of paint! We couldn't find a name for this mural (please let us know if you know!) but we call it ''Time Travel Mural'. The Visual Drop created this - artists Ed Russell and James Habgood, with Justin Smythe - after talks with The Railway Kids youth club, the Mechanics Institute Trust and Swindon Borough Council. The following year brought the 175th anniversary of the GWR coming to Swindon so a glance looking back at Swindon's history seemed in order for this mural. We were fortunate to speak to two of the artists who were working on the mural when we were there and they told us their vision and reasons why this particular theme was chosen. There are some clever things going on here - glimpses into the past, present and possibly future of Swindon, with time all mixed up due to a leak from the TARDIS (which itself has a Swindon link). Information about how it came to be can be seen at the
Swindon Link Magazine.
Please see our main
Cambria Mural page for details about the wall's other designs, photographs during renovation and repainting and links to photographs/information on other websites.
