These two sculptures date from 2011 - the first is located in College Street (
see Map) and the second is in Edgeware Road (
see Map), both are side roads leading to the shops on Regent Street. The lights, which aren't showing up well in these photographs (as it was day-time) are motion sensor controlled and switch on as someone approaches them are supposed to be a guiding beacon towards the shops.
According to Mark Child's 'The Swindon Book' they each cost £38,000 and were designed by Arup Engineering with Nicholas Pearson Associates and created in association with Peter Freeman of Nancledra, Cornwall.
