These photographs were taken in a circular walk arund the buildings. There are two distinct buildings - one part of which used to be the Aylesbury Dairy building which became the Southern Laundry - this part of the laundry is Grade II listed - see
Historic England website for details of the listing.
We start our walk at the shop (where anyone could take in their laundry and dry-cleaning) and offices in Haydon Street, then progress along the building until we reach where the laundry was actually done, which goes round into Aylesbury Street and finally into Station Road.
You will see it (the non-listed building) was in very poor condition after being closed for many years and left neglected. By August 2012 demolition was well advanced and at time of writing (July 2014) it is just a car park. We do not know if there are any plans to develop the site.
