See photographs of Outside Shaw Ridge Primary School
We were welcomed into Shaw Ridge Primary School during an opening even for parents (and us grandparents) and we were very pleased to be allowed to take photographs to go on this website. It was our first look inside the school so we were interested to see everything. What impressed us the most though was the vitality this place has – the children so proud of their work and their school. The teachers and Head that have the energy and patience to deal with these energetic youngsters (with their quick and enquiring minds), and it was good to see the respect these children have for their teachers. It struck us what a happy, nurturing place this school is and a wonderful start to school life for those children who are enthused to learn through the professionalism and caring of their teachers.
The school was full of displays of work on topics the pupils had been studying. We hope you enjoy our glimpse into the school – although there was much more to see we simply ran out of time.
Mandy has a photograph of her class when at school taken by her form teacher (thanks Mr Mumford!) and it isn’t just her classmates she looks at but a host of other things – the equipment hanging from the ceiling, the stools, the work on the walls – all bring back so many memories. We hope that any of the pupils that may stumble across this website in future years will enjoy spending a little time looking around and will be reminded of a rug, picture or even the guinea pig that had long been forgotten.
