This iconic building is located in West Swindon on a 16-acre site. It was built in 1981/2 as a showroom, parts distribution and training centre for Renault cars. It was officially opened on 15th June 1983 by Madame Lalumiere (French Secretary of State for Consumer Affairs). Although the design is attributed to Sir Norman Foster there was of course a whole host of other people involved in creating this building, which has won a number of awards as even featured in a Bond film.
It is Grade II* listed and along with the details of this listing there is lots of information about the building at the
Historic England website.
