White Horse Pacified, Swindon, Wiltshire
This sculpture, by Julie Livsey is called The White Horse Pacified. It is located between Cartwright Drive and Mead Way in West Swindon, next to a kiddies play park. It pays homage to the wealth of white horses that are carved into hills around the Wiltshire countryside.
In 2018 we took our grandson to see the statue and as we turned the corner and he first saw it he actually said 'Wow'. We were pleased to see it had not been swamped by the surrounding trees and the erosion to the paint was not as bad as we had expected, although admitedly could do with freshening up. Should the artist who created this happen to stumble across this page, Julie - we'd like you to know that after 31 years your work is still going strong and is viewed with awe by another generation.
