e had a one-night stay in Isle of Whithorn. We stayed at the Steam Packet Inn
where the view across the harbour was just wonderful. In the morning we went for a walk around and found the place so peaceful and so beautiful that we must go back another time and stay for much longer. Although called 'Isle' it does appear to be part of the mainland.
Since returning home we have discovered many of the structures are Listed Buildings, including the harbour quay, a castle, the churches and houses. In fact the British Listed Buildings website lists 1 Grade A, 2 Grade B and 18 Grade C(s) buildings, mostly in this small area shown in our few photographs. If you would like to see details, visit their website at: British Listed Buildings
. This link will open on their Map Search page and you will have to zoom in to the Isle of Whithorn to show them all - you are aiming for the area directly above the Isle of Man. Unfortunately if you do a Search, only about half a dozen structures are listed, whereas the map does show them all.
