Chapel Finian, Port William, Wigtownshire, Dumfries & Galloway
Chapel Finian is to be found close to the sea where pilgrims used to come ashore after their journey. Whithorn and it's links with St. Ninian are just a few miles from here. Today only a short part of the walls of the chapel are left but it does show the dimensions.
The A747 runs alongside the chapel and there are a couple of parking spaces for visitors to the chapel. Beyond that is a shingle beach and beautiful views out to sea.
Our photographs are taken roughly as we walked around the perimiter of the field, then a few 'inside' followed by pictures of some of the flora.
More information about the history of Chapel Finian can be found at the Historic Scotland website.
