The inscription on this gravestone is very hard to read.  We could read part of the name and some of the date of death, so we looked at the burial list (which is available inside the church to view) and found an entry that fits, that of Hugh de Heriz Whatton.  The register also states he was resident at The Manor, Rockley at the time of his death, aged 67.  He was buried on 8th November 1926, the service being conducted by the vicar, A. Selwyn.

Another name could partly be seen but most was obscured.  Again a search of the burial list gave us the information - Marion Stewart Whatton, whose residence was given as 'Late of Rockley recently of Ham' aged 85.  The burial was on 9th October 1952 and the ceremony was performed by John B. Chapman, Rector of Ham.
