The Church of St. Andrew, Ogbourne St. Andrew, Wiltshire, England
Ogbourne St. Andrew is a small peaceful village located between Swindon and Marlborough. St. Andrew's church has lots of old graves, but alas many inscriptions are no longer readable.
The church is normally kept locked, but the last time we visited two church members arrived and invited us in to take photographs to go on this website. Although we didn't have as long inside as we were have liked, we are very grateful to them for putting up with us as we wandered around, trying not to get in their way as they continued with their own tasks. Perhaps our photographs are timely too, as we hear there is a desire to open up the church to make it more useful to the community. Maybe the pews will be removed as so many churches have done to make the space more practical. Whatever the decisions are, we wish them well as they continue to debate the future use of the building.
The church of St. Andrew is a Grade I listed building - more information about the listing can be found at the Historic England website.
