The Church of St. Michaels & All Angels, Lyneham, Wiltshire, England
Lyneham is about 10 miles south west of Swindon and was originally a small village. Due to it becoming home to a large Royal Air Force base, it grew tremendously over forty years although still had the feel of a village about it. Old houses mingle with modern ones, but all had to bear the noise of aircraft taking off and landing. The base is (more of less) closed now.
The church building is in good condition and is very peaceful indeed. A leaflet is available which gives lots of interesting information about the church's history, and any facts given on these pages comes from this leaflet.
The church of St. Michael and All Angels is a Grade II listed building - more information about the listing can be found at the Historic England website.
