The Church of St. Katharine, Savernake, Wiltshire
This grave is in part of the graveyard that had been left as a wildlife area. We do not go into these areas in case we cause damage to the vegetation but there had been a fairly recent burial near this grave and a pathway through had been flattened so we followed it and were able to take these photographs.
There is some text written on the top of the stone; we cannot read the first word, but it looks like it continues ... 'A Leaf'.
Below is a photograph of the area of the graveyard. There are two of them with their tops showing above the grass, just left of the tree on the right side. This gravestone is the one on the right. If you look to the last row of gravestones before the wild area starts, a little to the left of the tops, you can see a little bit of white between two graves. The next photograph shows where the vegetation was flattened very close to the gravestone, ready for a burial.
