There are a couple of areas of the churchyard that have been left to 'go wild' to encourage and feed insects and allow a variety of plants.  We heard hidden creatures (crickets?) and saw plenty of butterflies and other polinators in these areas.  Churchyards are increasingly becoming important sanctuaries as our gardens have fewer varieties of plants and the use of various pest and weed killers.

These photographs are mainly of flowers in the mowed grass areas and were taken mid July and the start of August to show what is flowering at that time.  No doubt there are plenty of others at different times of the year.
