IN MEMORY OF BENJAMIN DISRAELI, EARL OF BEACONSFIELD, K.G.
BRILLIANT GENIUS, SAGECITY, COURAGE AND PERSEVERANCE ENABLED HIM
TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST SUCCESS IN LITERATURE AND STATESMANSHIP.
DURING A PARLIAMENTARY CAREER OF MORE THAN FORTY YEARS, HE
MAINTAINED A FOREMOST PLACE AS AN ORATOR: HELD HIGH OFFICES UNDER
THE CROWN AND WAS TWICE PRIME MINISTER. HE DIED ON THE 19TH OF APRIL 1881
IN THE FULNESS OF FAME AND HONOUR, MOURNED BY HIS SOVEREIGN AND THE NATION.
THIS TABLET IS INSCRIBED BY HIS ATTACHED FRIEND,
GEORGE WILLIAM VISCOUNT BARRINGTON.
