The Church of St. Nicholas, Fyfield, Wiltshire, England
Turn off the very busy A4 road out of Marlborough into Fyfield and you are transported to a quiet village set amid farmland. St. Nicholas Church has some unusual and beautiful features. Inside you will find a history leaflet which gives information about dates the different parts of the church were built and/or renovated.
Although there are some gravestones in the churchyard, the majority (or at least more recent ones) are across the lane in the cemetery.
The building is a Grade II* listed building - more information about the listing can be found at the Historic England website.
Unfortunately when we visited in 2001 we took most of these photographs using a video camera, capturing a shot from it. These are extremely poor quality. Now we have a digital camera we mean to go back to take better photographs but at the time of updating this page (June 2000) we still haven't managed to find the time. Hopefully one day!
