The Church of St. Moluag, Port Gobhlaig, Isle of Skye, Scotland
This ruined church of St. Moluag can be found on the road to Port Gobhlaig off the A855, between Kendram and Solitote, in the Trotternish area of North Skye. The churchyard and surroundings feels like it is can be a harsh environment but the setting is, as always on Skye, quite stunning. The day we visited we were lucky to have blue skies and sunshine and looking around there was a rawness that emphasized the beauty of the nature.
Some of the gravestones in the churchyard have been eroded by this harsh weather and the inscriptions very difficult to read. We have had to guess at some of the names and will appreciate being told if we have made a mistake so we can correct it.
