The Church of St. Mary, Walsham le Willows, Suffolk, England
We came to Walsham-le-Willows because Duncan's great great grandfather, William Tydeman was born here. He later moved to London and finally Wanborough in Wiltshire. Although our trip to this part of the country was primarily to go to the Records Office, we took some time out, albeit only briefly, to visit the village and church. We were suprised by the scale of the building considering the size of the local population - and inside its spaciousness is impressive. Well worth our time away from the records! Perhaps if we learn more about William - his school and houses he lived in - we may return and try to locate them. Tydeman is very rare name in the area of Wiltshire where we live, but it was quite common in this part of the England.
The church of St. Mary is Grade I listed - details of the listing can be seen at the Historic England website.
