The Parade is part of the main shopping area of Swindon town centre. The original buildings were dated from 1961 but in more recent years one side has been knocked down and re-built; one particular block of the new-build was knocked down after a short time and since built again. The other side though remains more of less as it was built with just changes to the signage as the businesses trading there have changed. This 1960s architecture is certainly of its time and not particularly up to current taste but it is nice to see some of Swindon's history remaining in the town centre.
Our photographs start with general shots of The Parade followed by all the individual business units, some of which have links under to see more photographs of that address.
Our photographs are a snapshot in time to record a building's history.
Businesses shown may no longer be trading there.
