The Parade subway, Swindon, Wiltshire
The Parade subway is at one end of shops in The Parade in the town centre. It goes under Fleming Way and gives access from town to the Tri Centre, the bus station and the railway station without having to cross the busy road. Our understanding is this subway will not be needed when the new bus station is built as the ground (road) level we be lower, and there will be no access for cars, although when that work might take place we have no idea.
The subway is extremely busy and often has music eminating from it by way of buskers.
The tiles inside the subway with their engine design reflect Swindon's Great Western Railway heritage.
