The kiosk in the Town Gardens was, according to the Historic England website, an information kiosk for the Great Western Railway in 1915 and was moved to the Town Gardens some years later. Currently it is a cafe selling light refreshments and snacks to visitors, and when the weather is good enough, there are tables and chairs for them to rest and watch the world go by.
The dome on top has coloured glass - we have photographs of some of them, both inside and out, but the inside ones are rather bad as they were taken through the lower windows.
The building is Grade II listed - for details of the listing see the
Historic England site.
