We were a little confused by this building as it looks like two buildings with different designs but inside the spaces merge together.  However, as it is Grade II listed we read the listing details and it tells us the original building was 2 storeys with a later addition of a 3-storey extension.  See listing details at: Historic England.

Currently (2026) the building has multiple uses including the Town Hall (Council offices are here), the Athelstan Museum, a café and Tourist Information centre.  There could well be other uses, but these are the ones we noticed!  If you are lucky enough to visit Malmesbury, do go in and see for yourself what is in there, and make sure you walk around the museum and exhibitions.
