When we stayed in Skye during 2009 we were lucky to have stayed with someone who had an interest in lichen - Chris Mitchell.  This isn't something we had given any thought to before - other than noting it on the gravestones we have photographed.

This island has some very elaborate lichen growing on it and - as you will see - we do not know the names of any of them.
