Gravestones at Christ Church, Swindon, Wiltshire
We first photographed this grave in 2004 - unfortunately the photograph quality meant the inscription was not easy to read. When we took some more in 2019, using a different camera, but the inscription had deteriorated and moss was obscuring some of the words. One side is dedicated to Edwin Knapp. The other is for to Jemima P. Knapp and Albert Edward Knapp. We have tried to work out what this inscription says; we think it reads:
In Affectionate Remembrance of
Jemima P. the beloved wife of Edwin KNAPP.
Who departed this life November (December?) 30th 1872 Aged 49 Years Thy Will be done
Also Albert Edward KNAPP who died Sept. 29th 1865 Aged 3 Weeks. He will carry the lambs in his bosom.
If you can tell us any more of the inscription, please let us know and we will update this page with the information. Thank you.
