Portland Bill Lighthouse at Portland, Dorset
The lighthouse at Portland Bill is somewhat iconic - perhaps because of its easily accessible location and lovely setting and that there are other 'tourist' attractions here too. The first day we visited it disappeared before our eyes in just a few minutes as a mist rolled in off the sea so we drove away and went back the following day. It looked so different in the sunshine - the colours bright instead of dull grey.
The lighthouse is Grade II listed - see details of the listing at the Historic England website.
More information about the Portland Bill can be found at the Portland History website.
