Pulpit Rock at Portland, Dorset
Pulpit Rock is a distinctive stack on the west side of the southern end of Portland Bill. As you can see from our photographs, although there is a notice telling visitors of the danger, there are still plenty of people willing to scale the leaning stone to get on to the Pulpit Rock. It is close to a few other features such as the lighthouse and Trinity House Obelisk and the area is a popular visitor attraction with easy access.
We ended up taking many photographs of the rock because we were sat close by as we watched the sun set. It was as peaceful as it was beautiful as the sea crashed around us and the sun gradually disappeared into the sea. So beautiful in fact we went back the following evening for some more of the same although this time there were plenty of others sharing the experience.
More information about Pulpit Rock can be found at the Portland History website.
