Gravestones at Christ Church, Swindon, Wiltshire

This gravestone is dedicated to Margery Winifred May and her son Flt. Lt. John James Taylor.  It is located in the EX area of the graveyard at Christ Church.  The church's wonderful Search facility (at their website) gives very slight different information about the Section, but that may be due to whomever entered it into the database simply using a different method - there was forty years between entries after all.  For Margery, the Section given is EX and for John EXT.

The last photograph on the page was taken in 2017 when this area of the graveyard was left unattended to encourage wildlife to flourish.  We enquired about this at the time and were told that each year one section of the older areas of the graveyard are left this way, but it is a different area each year and in between the rotation the areas are kept neat.  We took the other photos of the area just two years later and you can see how well the area recovered.
